Blue Eye is a quality seafood restaurant on Hobart’s waterfront, cooking fresh and tasty local fish and seafood. We have a modern menu specialising in grilled fish dishes, seafood platters, baked whole fish and fish and chips.

STRAIGHT FROM THE OCEAN TO YOUR PLATE
We utilise the best, fresh local seafood purchased daily from our local fish suppliers. This is the fish that makes it on to our daily changing menus. Local speciality fish includes blue eye trevalla, flathead, stripey trumpeter, Huon Atlantic salmon, mirror and king dory, boarfish, oysters, crayfish, oysters, scallops, mussels, Pirates Bay octopus and local calamari.
AFTERNOON OYSTER ORGY
Every afternoon we have an oyster orgy with all oysters $2 each between 3 and 5 pm. We source our oysters from Tas Prime leases in Dunalley and Pittwater close to Hobart. We shuck our oysters at the restaurant. Our oysters are best served natural with a squeeze of lemon and some cracked black pepper or alternatively hot – either Kilpatrick, or with Garlic Butter or Tempura Battered with soy and mirin.

Blue Eye offers relaxed casual dining that includes table service. We are family friendly with great kids’ menu. We also have a covered, heated outdoor dining area with views over the waterfront and across Salamanca Place. Want to chill out at home? Our food is also available for take-away.
We are open:
Monday from 5 pm
Tuesday to Saturday from 11 am to 11 pm
(Note, our kitchen closes between 9 and 10 pm depending on how busy we are on the day. If you are thinking of dining with us later in the evening please call to check.)
Closed on Sundays and some Public Holidays.
This year we will be closed from 24 to 26 December for the Christmas break.
